I am Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Molloy College in Rockville Centre, NY. My research areas include health care ethics, contemporary philosophy, and philosophy and pop culture. I recently co-edited a volume titled Westworld and Philosophy: If You Go Looking for the Truth, Get the Whole Thing with Dr. James South. The volume is available here: https://www.amazon.com/Westworld-Philosophy-Blackwell-Pop-Culture/dp/1119437881
I received my PhD from Marquette University in 2017. Under the direction of Dr. Pol Vandevelde, I wrote my dissertation on social and historical subjectivity in the works of Jean Paul Sartre and Michel Foucault and the implications of their views for contemporary discussions of ethical issues in health care.
At Molloy College I teach courses in ethics and contemporary philosophy. I also teach Advanced Healthcare Ethics for nursing graduate students. My teaching philosophy centers on assisting students in developing strong critical thinking and writing skills, as well as applying ethical philosophy to contemporary ethical issues in the news and media.
