I am Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Molloy College in Rockville Centre, NY. My research centers around Sartrean existentialism as a contemporary lived philosophy, applicable to all domains of modern life. I recently co-edited a volume titled Westworld and Philosophy: If You Go Looking for the Truth, Get the Whole Thing with Dr. James South. The volume is available here: https://www.amazon.com/Westworld-Philosophy-Blackwell-Pop-Culture/dp/1119437881
I received my PhD from Marquette University in 2017. Under the direction of Dr. Pol Vandevelde, I wrote my dissertation on social and historical subjectivity in the works of Jean Paul Sartre and Michel Foucault and the implications of their views for contemporary discussions of ethical issues in health care.
At Molloy College I teach courses in ethics and contemporary philosophy. I also teach Advanced Healthcare Ethics for nursing graduate students. My teaching philosophy centers on assisting students in developing strong critical thinking and writing skills, as well as applying ethical philosophy to contemporary ethical issues in the news and media.
As of February 2019, I joined existing editor Alison Reiheld as co-editor of the scholarly blog for the International Journal of Feminist Approaches to Bioethics (IJFAB). You can find the blog here: http://www.ijfab.org/blog/
